Plea to SSGC

Published January 3, 2002

KARACHI, Jan 2: The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Sindh-Balochistan zone) has urged the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to immediately install calorific value corrector and volume corrector meters in the industry.

The Aptma (SB Zone) members in a meeting held recently objected over the supply of different mix of gas by the SSGC to different category of customers.

The members pointed out that in the absence of calorific value corrector meters the company resorts to charging different rates to different customers for same volume of gas.

The industry is concerned over the method adopted by SSGC, and alleged that the company has quietly reduced the calorific value which results in excessive billing on the already cost-burdened industry.

Aptma has already protested over the sudden increase in billing, on account of low pressure and reduced calorific mix.
