Court suspends verdict

SKARDU, Dec 20: The Northern Areas chief court has accepted an appeal against a verdict passed by the election tribunal Skardu whereby NALC membership of an applicant was declared as null and void, official sources told Dawn here on Tuesday.

The appeal was filed by a member of the Northern Areas Legislative Council (NALC), Agha Syed Mohammad Ali Shah.

Chief court member Raja Jalaluddin, after hearing arguments of the petitioner’s counsel, ordered suspension of the verdict given by the election tribunal and accepted the appeal for proper hearing on Dec 22.
