MULTAN, Dec 20: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Sattar Khan adjourned for Dec 22 the hearing of the bail confirmation applications of the accused in Afsheen Mussarat’s murder case, here on Saturday.

The judge took up the matter of bail confirmation of Afsheen’s grandfather Allah Ditta Sahu, brother Arsalan, Fazeel Raza, Hammad Karamat, Taufiq Ahmad and her father’s lawyer friends — Mazhar Dharala and Naeem Thaheem — as all of them were on pre-arrest bails when senior lawyer Pervez Aftab appeared in court as their new counsel and sought some time to plead the case.

At this, the court ordered adjournment of the hearing till tomorrow. Local police authorities had deployed a heavy contingent outside court.

Earlier, the district and sessions judge, Azharul Haq Awan, dismissed the petition of the seven accused for transfer of the hearing of bail applications from the court of AD&SJ.
