SHEIKHUPURA/SARGODHA, Dec 20: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal acting chief Qazi Husain Ahmad on Saturday ruled out further dialogue with the government on LFO, Gen Musharraf’s uniform and other issues.

He was addressing a big gathering at Yadgar Park in Sheikhupura here on Saturday. The MMA convoy later left for Sargodha.

Speaking on the occasion, MMA leader Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that under the umbrella of LFO, Gen Musharraf wanted to “enslave the new generation.”

He said the MMA leadership had been holding talks with the government on all controversial issues for the last one year in the interest of the country’s solidarity and integrity.

The Maulana said the MMA would not give a vote of confidence to of Gen Musharraf even if the government tabled the amended package in parliament.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Prof Allama Abdul Jalil Naqvi termed the US a biggest terrorist because it invaded Afghanistan and Iraq without any justification.

He said a large number of Muslims were being killed in both the Muslim countries by the US and its allies in the name of wiping out terrorism from across the world.

MMA leader Liaquat Baloch, in his speech at Khanqah Dogran, asked Gen Musharraf to reveal the list of 600 terrorists killed by armed forces during its so-called anti-terrorist operation along the Pakistan-Afghan border areas.

Other MMA leaders, including senator Prof Sajid Mir, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Allama Munawar Hassan, Fareed Piracha, Ameerul Azeem also spoke to gatherings in Farooqabad and Khanqah Dogran.

Sources said that Qazi Husain returned to Lahore after his address in Sheikhupura to participate in an international Palestinian conference in Tehran.

The MMA convoy reached Sargodha from Hafizabad at night where activists of its various component parties gathered at Shaheen Chowk instead of Sharbatwala Chowk.

The people expressed their disappointment when they learnt about the absence of MMA acting chief Qazi Husain Ahmed. Addressing the gathering, Maulana Fazalur Rehman alleged that PML-Q leaders were playing in the hands of Gen Musharraf who wanted to make amendments to the constitution for his vested interest, but we would foil all such undemocratic attempts.

Jamaat Ahle Hadith chief Allama Sajid Mir, JI leaders Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, naib amir Syed Munawar Husain and Abdul Jalil Naqvi were also among the MMA leaders who spoke on the occasion.

An announcement was made at the stage that Qazi Husain Ahmed could not accompany the caravan to Sargodha because he had left Dubai to meet PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
