Army trounce Police

LAHORE, Jan 1: Army thrashed Police 13-3 in the opening match of the second national inter-department baseball championship at the Iqbal Parks Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Army’s batters played with authority and got a total of 13 runs in three innings. They scored six runs in the first innings, four runs in the second innings and three in the final third innings.

Abdur Rahman scored three runs with one home run. Zafar also added three while Fayyaz scored two. Kamran, Sarfraz, Pasha, Nisar and Riaz chipped in with one each.

Police gave a dismal performance and could collect only three runs in three innings. Kamran Butt scored one home run while Akhtar Khan and Ghulam Husain contributed one run each.
