The petition filed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's legal counsel shows the premier's house expenditure and personal expenses.


While Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his earlier wealth reconciliation statement to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the year 2011 declared Rs19,878,706 as personal expenses, his 2012 statement showed Rs24,096,786 as personal expenses

According to a wealth statement of his spouse Kalsoom Nawaz, she spent Rs1,125,630 during 2011 as personal expenses but only Rs15,035 during 2012.

Breakdown of Sharif's expenses in 2011

The documents submitted in the country's top court show that in the year 2011, he spent nothing on electricity, gas and rent bills for his residence.

He showed expenses of Rs830, 681 as the residence's telephone, mobile and internet bills. He showed travelling (both foreign and local) expenses of Rs2, 261,368 during the year 2011.

Under running and maintenance of vehicles expenditure, he showed Rs1,436,373. He payed a sum of Rs 205,062 against club membership fees.

He also showed Rs15,145, 222 as expenditure on other personal household expenses, including repair/maintenance of residence; driver, domestic staff, food, clothing, medical, marriages and functions.

Breakdown of Sharif's expenses in 2012

According to an FBR document in connection with details of Sharif's personal expenses in 2012, he again spent nothing on electricity, gas and rent bills at his residence.

He showed expenses of Rs603, 987 as the residence's telephone, mobile and internet bills. He showed travelling (both foreign and local) expenses of Rs5,253,842 during the year 2012.

Under running and maintenance of vehicles expenditure, he showed Rs1,000,000. He payed a sum of Rs51,716 against club membership fees.

He also showed Rs17,187,241 as expenditure on other personal, household expenses, including repair/maintenance of residence/ driver, servants, food, clothing, medical, marriages and functions.

Travelling expenses through the years

Documents show that Sharif spent Rs1,224,892 on airfare during the year 2010. He made 10 domestic and international tours during the year.

In 2011, he made only four national and international tours, which cost Rs998,206.

In 2012, he spent Rs1,776,600 on 10 domestic and international travels.
