ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Pakistan next week to address a joint sitting of parliament on Nov 17.

President Mamnoon Hussain has summo­ned the joint sitting on Nov 17 and a session of the National Assembly on the next day.

An official of the Presidency told Dawn that the president had signed a summary regarding the summoning of the joint sitting of the two houses.

The Turkish president will arrive on a two-day state visit and will have one-to-one meetings with President Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

After the address of the Turkish leader, President Hussain will also deliver a speech.

Later, the prime minister and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Kurshid Shah will extend a vote of thanks to the guest.

The president will host a lunch in the honour of his Turkish counterpart.

Several cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed during the Turkish president’s visit.
