KARACHI: NED reschedules exams

KARACHI, Jan 1: The NED University of Engineering and Technology has announced to reschedule the practical examinations of Operating Systems-I of third year (Bachelor of Computer Science and Information Technology) annual examinations of 1998-99 batch.

The practical examinations will now be held on Jan 10 instead of Jan 5 at the same place and time.

CONVOCATION: The convocation of the NED University of Engineering and Technology will be held on January 5.

About 613 passing out students will get degrees in Bachelor of Engineering, including 150 students in Civil Engineering, 210 in Mechanical Engineering, 141 in Electrical Engineering, 70 in Computer Systems and Information Engineering, 31 in Textile Engineering and 11 students in Bachelor of Architecture, registrar of the university, Syed Ghulam Qadir Shah, said.

In addition, 55 students will be conferred Masters of Engineering degrees, including five in Civil, 31 in Mechanical, three in Electrical engineering, besides M.Sc degrees in Computer Science to 15 students.

Nine position holders in various disciplines will be awarded gold medals, whereas merit certificates will also be given to other position holders.

Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro will be the chief guest on the occasion, while minister of state and chairman, Export Promotion Bureau, Tariq Ikram, will deliver the convocation address.—PPI
