KARACHI: Damaged pipeline repaired

Published December 12, 2003

KARACHI, Dec 11: The 66-inch dia pipeline which got damaged on Wednesday on main University Road, near Old Sabzi Mandi, has been repaired.

A KWSB spokesman claimed that leakage was repaired on Wednesday night without suspending supply to the areas getting water from it.

“Water coming out from the leaking pipeline was affecting flow of traffic on the road,” he said, adding water supply position will improve following its repair”.

The pipeline had been leaking since early Ramazan and it had damaged a portion of the main University road near Chandni Cinema and in front of old Sabzi Mandi.

As the KWSB officials did not intimate the traffic police about the repair work, people returning to their homes suffered owing to stagnant water on University Road.
