GHALANAI: Two people were injured when their motorcycle hit a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) at Dawezai area of Pandiali tehsil in Mohmand Agency on Thursday.

Political naib tehsildar Imtiaz Ali Shah said that two tribesmen, Habibur Rehman and Yaqoob Khan, were on way to a local bazaar on their motorcycle. He said that when the two reached Haji Kor, some 50km from here, an improvised explosive device planted by unknown miscreants exploded, injuring both Habib and Yaqoob. They were taken to the DHQ hospital.

The security forces cordoned off the area soon after the incident and started a search operation. However, no arrest could be made till late in the night.
