PEL's clean drinking water campaign — strive for the change you want to see

PEL aims to spread awareness about the importance of clean water.

Every year in Pakistan, a large number of children die before reaching the age of five due to the unavailability of clean drinking water.

Unsanitary water that is riddled with multiple diseases leads to many health problems that continue to affect the country's infant population at an alarmingly high rate.

Amidst all the chaos that surrounds us daily, have you ever thought about taking the first step and striving for the change you want to see?

PEL did.

As an organisation that has been part of Pakistan's economic growth for over 60 years, PEL not only recognised the need for cold and clean drinking water but this summer in the scorching heat it addressed this realisation.

During some of the hottest days of the year — in the months of May and June — PEL launched “Pel Se Zindagi”, an on-ground activation that resulted in the installation of water dispensers that provided cold and clean drinking water to the lesser-privileged communities of Lahore.

These water dispensers could be found in parks, at railway stations, near government hospitals and in marketplaces where most people travel back and forth by foot.

A noble and encouraging initiative, “Pel Se Zindagi” not only involved spreading awareness about the importance of clean water but also instilled a desire among people to perform their own acts of kindness.

People were inspired to take a step and work towards making a difference.

They were encouraged to post the stories and accounts of their good deeds in order to build a unified community based on charity.

Suffice to say that PEL has once again established itself as an organisation working towards improving the country's future and will carry out the “Pel Se Zindagi” drive in all major cities of Pakistan next year.

How are you contributing to an important cause like this?

Remember, even if we are unable to contribute on a large scale, the least we can do is share clean water with people because every helping hand is a blessing and every donation counts!
