PESHAWAR, Dec 31: The police on Sunday seized a huge cache of arms being smuggled to various parts of the country, and arrested two accursed.

Acting on a tip-off, the Bhana Mari police signalled a car (Kohat-9387) coming from the tribal area, but the driver tried to speed away.

The police opened fire, forcing the driver to stop the vehicle.

On search, 23 Kalashnikovs, 20 repeaters, 10 guns, 16 pistols, 25,000 rounds and 108 magazines were recovered from the car.

The accused were identified Rasool Khan and Riaz Khan.

Sources said that Riaz Khan was wanted to the police for his alleged involvement in many cases of heinous nature.
