QUETTA, Dec 5: Pakistan and Iran on Friday discussed ways to curb drug trafficking and stop each other’s nationals from crossing the border illegally.

The two countries’ border security officials met at the FC headquarters here and decided to adopt stricter measures to discourage youths who attempt to sneak over through illegal means.

The Iranian delegation, led by Brig Noorullah Younsi, held discussion with Inspector General of Frontier Corps, Balochistan, Maj-Gen Saddaqat Ali Shah.

A formal meeting between the two officials would be held on Saturday, sources said. On the meeting’s agenda are such items as smuggling of narcotics, illegal immigrants and border security.
