HYDERABAD, Dec 31: At least 50 activists of the Sindh National Students Front (SNSF) held a demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Monday against the suicidal death of Ms Uma Devi, a student of the Peoples Medical College (PMC), Nawabshah.

Addressing the rally, the central leaders of the SNSF, Mazhar Meerani, Muzaffar Sehto, and Dr Waheed Unner said that Miss Uma’s suicide had fully exposed the rampant corruption in the educational institutions.

They alleged that “personal likes and dislikes” by the people concerned had taken the life of an innocent student.

They demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident and deterrent punishment for those people who were involved in corrupt practices.

They threatened to enlarge the scope of their protest if no action was taken regarding it.

SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad, announced the results of pre-interview written tests held in the month of October and November 2001 for recruitment in various posts of lecturers (male and female).
