Governor to inaugurate varsity block

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 4: Governor NWFP Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah will inaugurate a new block at the Gomal University here on Saturday.

The new block has been named Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Auditorium and Computer Science block.

The governor, who is also the university’s chancellor, will address teaching faculties of the university.

Sources said that renowned scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, who shared a large amount in the construction of the auditorium, would also be accompanying the governor on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the university’s vice chancellor Wazirzada Mohammad Idrees Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the Law College’s new building at the city campus.

The law college building was built at a cost of Rs2.2 million.

The vice-chancellor also inaugurated a students facility centre at the university’s campus, which would provide communications facility inside the campus to students and staff of the institution.

Telephone, facsimile, internet and computer composing facility would be provided at the communications centre.

A separate counter has been provided for the women student community.—PPI
