Lawyers observe strike

FAISALABAD, Dec 1: Local lawyers observed a complete strike on Monday to express their resentment over the killing of a civil judge in Sargodha.

The District Bar Association at a meeting held with its president, Salahuddin, in the chair urged the law-enforcement agencies to arrest the killers of judge Mehr Mushtaq Ahmad at the earliest.

SIALKOT: The Sialkot District Bar Association has strongly condemned the murder of a civil judge Mushtaq Ahmad near Sillanwali, Sargodha.

A DBA press release issued here on Monday expressed grave concern over the killing of a law officer. It demanded immediate arrest of the killers besides providing security guards to all the judges.

Meanwhile, security of judges and magistrates has been tightened in the Punjab after the judge’s murder.

According to official sources, extra personnel have been deployed at courts and residences of judges.
