17 die in Kuwait

BASRA, Iraq, Nov 30: At least 17 Kuwaitis returning from the burial of a senior Shia cleric in Karbala were killed in a bus crash, the British army and a religious leader said on Sunday.

“The bus turned over and there are at least 17 dead,” army spokesman Hisham Allawi said.

In Kuwait, the head of the Shia Clerics Congress had given a provisional death toll of 16 with several other people in critical condition.—AFP
