KARACHI: A pesh imam at Masjid Siddiq Akber succumbed to his injuries after being shot at by two gunmen in his residence on Monday.

Two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot the pesh imam, Habibur Rehman, at his residence in Masjid Siddiq Akber in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar area near Safoora Chowrangi, Superintedent Police Gulshan-i-Iqbal Fahad Ahmed said.

Habibur Rehman, in his mid-thirties, did not appear to be the victim of a sectarian killing, the SP said, adding that the body had been shifted to Memon Hospital.
