SHIKARPUR, Nov 28: People’s Party Parliamentarian leader Aftab Shahban Mirani has denied that PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto is striking a deal with the government.
He said that the party did not believe in grabbing power through a deal because it enjoyed the support of the masses.
Talking to journalists at his residence here on Friday, he criticized the government, saying that it had failed in redressing the people’s grievances and providing amenities to them.
He accused the rulers of creating the law and order situation, particularly in Sindh.
Expressing his opinionm Mr Mirani said that the fate of the federal and particularly Sindh government was hanging in balance and they could be dissolved any time.
The PPP leader said that the rulers had come in power by misguiding the people in the name of democracy and they had damaged democratic values to remain in power.
EID MILAN PARTY: An Eid Milan party was held here on Thursday under the auspices of the Shikarpur Press Club and Shikarpur Development Organizing Committee.
Elected representatives, Nazims, Naib Nazims, political leaders, councillors, social workers and others attended the party.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants highlighted the worsening conditions of sanitation, drainage, roads, streets and historical buildings in the city and offered suggestions to overcome the problems.
Many speakers offered voluntarily services for restoring the lost glory of Shikarpur and launching of development activities in the city.
Speakers included MNA Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi, PPP leader Aftab Shahban Mirani, Junaid Ahmed Soomro, Shikarpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice-president Mian Zafar Ali Alvi, District Bar Association chief Agha Sanaullah Durrani, farmers’ leader Amir Bux Pahore, Rahim Bux Jafri, Mohammad Paryal Mari and Dr Anwar Figar Hakro.
