Pakistanis have begun celebrating the end of the fasting month of Ramazan with solemn sunrise prayers followed by savoury high-calorie feasts to mark their holiest holiday.

Wednesday's celebrations come despite concerns over violence looming in parts of Middle East and elsewhere.

Thank you Dan for these pictures. I have yet to experiance Eid namaz in the fantastic Madshahi Masjid which I hope I will one day.

But I missed pictures from Gilgit Baltistan, Peshawar, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Faislabad, Sukkur, Wana, Gwadar, Tharparkar, Sargodha, Bahawalpur... Point being, Pakistan is much much more then Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta.

Eid Mubarak. These are hard and uncertain times we’re living in. You never know what will still be here tomorrow. That’s why we must take joy every day in what we do have, so it’s something we can carry in our memories when things change.
