Police said the woman was crossing the tracks when she got crushed by the locomotive. The victim died on the spot. Her body was shifted to the JPMC for the postmortem examination.

DOCTOR’S DEATH: A young doctor committed suicide by injecting himself with an overdose of sedatives in his room at the doctors’ hostel in the JPMC on Wednesday night.

ASP Saddar Kashif Kanju, told Dawn that the police found three injections of Pentothangesis, a sedative, and Trachrieum, a muscle relaxant, beside the body.

The victim had injected the two drugs through a canulla found inserted in his hand, the ASP added.

Quoting his fellow doctors, the ASP said the victim was a FCPS doctor, hailing from Haripur Hazara.

The victim’s fellow doctors said he was suffering from schizophrenia and was also recently diagnosed with tuberculosis; he was not attending his duty as RMO at the department of physiotherapy for almost one month.

Police also found a copy of an application addressed to the JPMC authorities concerned seeking a long leave on account of his illness.

The authorities, however, had asked him to appear before a medical board in connection with his application, which he did not do.
