KARACHI: Upcoming off-spinner Junaid Ilyas grabbed brilliant figures of 6-16 as Pakistan CC launched their campaign in the KCCA Zone-VI Daud Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament with a crushing 10-wicket defeat of Paposh Nagar CC here on Saturday.

Batting first, Paposh Nagar CC folded up for 77 in 19.3 overs at the KCCA Stadium.

Pakistan needed just 7.1 overs to reach 80 without loss with Mohammad Afzal making 45 and Javed Mansoor 35.

Meanwhile, a fine all-round performance by Javed Kohistani guided Qasmi Gymkhana to seven-wicket victory Sun CC at the Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana Ground.

Sun CC were all out for 218 in 33.5 overs with Deedar Shah contributing 54. Skipper Abid Qasmi and Imran Ali claimed three wickets apiece while Javed took two.

Qasmi Gymkhana romped to their target in the 23rd over with Javed striking an undefeated 55.

Metropolitan CC rode on excellent knocks from Fahaddis Bukhari (91 with nine fours and four sixes), Naveed Al-Amin (68) and Saif-ur-Rehman (60) to whip Taimuria Sports by 118 runs at the Afza Cricket Ground.
