ISLAMABAD, Nov 12: The Commonwealth would like to have Pakistan back in its fold as it is an important parliamentary platform for interaction between the parliamentarians of Commonwealth member states.

This was stated by Commonwealth Secretary-General Don Meknon during a meeting with Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and members of Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation in London on Wednesday, according to a message received here today.

The Senate chairman explained Pakistan’s point of view and responded effectively to various queries by the Commonwealth secretary-general and his team.

The meeting is being considered as significant in view of recent developments regarding Pakistan’s re-entry into the fold of Commonwealth.—APP
