KARACHI, Nov 10: A container ship, Diela, was allotted berth at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, another ship with chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as five ships, Diela, Armour-I, Madura, Zhi Qiang and E-Trader were busy in loading/offloading containers, edible oil and coal.

Cargo handling activity was slow as only a tonnage of 21,536 tons comprising 18,799 tons of import cargo and 2,737 tons of export cargo was handled.

Zhi Qiang sailed out, while Diela was expected to leave the port. Three ships, D.S. Garnet, Ermis and Nur Yanbu were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Two ships, Regents Park and Al Waaliyo with edible oil and chemicals were due to arrive at the port.
