Shaheen Gym triumph

KARACHI, Nov 6: An entertaining 105-run partnership for the opening wicket between Azhar Gul (55) and Fouz ur Rehman (47), enabled Shaheen Gymkhana register a nine-wicket triumph over Saddar Town CC in the Eighth Danish Trophy Ramazan tournament played on Thursday at the KGA ground.

Saddar Town were restricted to 143 for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 allotted overs with Haq Nawaz (33), Akif Alvi (26) and Iqbal Surti (22) among the runs. Skipper Shoukat Rajput three for 32 and left-arm Tahir Andy three for 26 shared the bowling spoils.

With Azhar and Fouz in fine form with the willow, Shaheen Gymkhana reached the target in 16.2 overs losing only one wicket. Nadeem Tariq chipped in with 29 not out.

Friday’s fixture: Sadiq Sports v Khatri Sports 1.45 p.m. Due to Ramazan prayers the match will be of 18 overs for each team.
