KARACHI, Nov 6: Six ships carrying soyabean meal, DAP fertilizer and steel cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active thanks to steady arrivals and as a result six ships were berthed. They are: Kota Intan, Hyundai Future, to unload and load containers, York Castle to unload and load general goods, Badulu Valley, to unload soyabean meal, Dubai Guardian to offload fertilizer and Al-Maqwa to unload high speed diesel.
Five ships, Kota Intan, APL Venezuela, Amarita, York Castle and Naga departed on Thursday, while Hyundai Future, Al-Maqwa, Jin Shun, Al-Manakh and Eax Sanctity are due to sail out on Friday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage. The export cargo totalled 8,434 tons, while import tonnage swelled to 0.110m tons.
The following ships are due on Friday: Stolt Orchid, with 2,748 tons of chemicals, Norasia Noor, Kota Teraju, with containers, Calina-1, with 14,383 tons of DAP fertilizer, Madre, with 3,258 tons of steel cargo and Mercs Sajinda, with 1,495 tons of soyabean meal from India.
