Yasir Shah to appeal against doping suspension

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah will appeal against his suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.
The Pakistan Cricket Board told the ICC on Sunday and the game's governing body will now form a tribunal to hear Shah's appeal.
Shah was suspended last month after his “A” sample contained a banned substance - chlortalidone - which is on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list.
Local reports say Shah took his wife's blood pressure medication without knowing that it contained the banned substance.
During his suspension Shah cannot participate in any international match or games organized by the PCB or its affiliated members.

Inspired by Shane doping ban in the past where he claimed he took weight control pills gave by his mother. Yasir will clear the ban I believe and will be back in action soon.

@MALIK I doubt that he will clear the ban. Shane had to serve his punishment. Yasir should know that taking prescription medicine without a prescription is illegal.

Hey Shah just admit what you did? don't fool around. Your test positive for a banned
substance. Hence you should be punished and punished hard so other players should
think twice.

PCB should nurture all our young & new cricketers in international arena and they have to be counseled on good & bad behavior while representing Pakistan. PCB should take the responsibility.

I am baffled!!. No one takes BP medications without a prescription from a doctor!. How did he know whether he had low or high BP??!!.
Something is not right!!. There is more to this situation than "meets the eye"!!.

@Shakil USA illiteracy or you can say lack of academic education is affecting Pakistan team players.Why would some body knowingly consume medicine which can prove fatal to there life forget about improving performance,he would have been dead for misuse of medicine.Lack of education is sole reason for there action.

His story doesn't seem very credible. Who says "Oh look pills, I have no idea what they are but might as well take them". Also it would be nice to know if they can tell if he took them more then once. Maybe just maybe if he took it once by accident it could be plausible but not more then that. They are pharmaceutical pills not chocolate.

One takes wife's medicines, other puts 2 logos on his kit - these are school boy errors. Absolutely doesn't suit International personalities representing their country abroad! Why don't you groom these guys to be sensible humans along with teaching them cricket?

@Canada He could have died from consuming something without prescribed by Doctor.In developed countries those will not be available without doctor prescribtion.He is such dope he doesn't know that it can proved to be fatal death and no performance improvement if he won't be alive in first place.Lack of education creates such type of fiasco.You can see many of Pakistani batsman throw there wickets away close to victory in ODI and T20.Very simple they cannot count the number of runs needed to win.They get into trouble one after another due to illiteracy .

hard to digest. if he has taken the medicine he should face the music. if his wife is on a BP drug, why on earth he took her medication.... perhaps out of love .

Why dont we let the ICC tribunal hear the evidence and decide - have patience and wait for the tribunals decision. All these speculations how and why did he take the medicine - you do not have all the facts to pass judgment
