SANGHAR, Nov 2: Thieves barged into the house of Major Ijaz of the ISI, who had been a security officer of Gen Pervez Musharraf, on Saturday.

The residents of the house immediately overpowered one thief while the remaining managed to flee.

The major’s brother, Prof Fayaz, told this correspondent that they called the 15-Madadgar police several times for help but were always told that the police mobile’s tie-rod had broken and they would arrive as soon as it was fixed. After about 40 minutes, two policemen arrived there. The thief arrested was handed over to them.

Mr Fayaz said that when they went to the police station, they found a brand new police mobile parked there, and added that his house was only a few minutes’ drive from the police station.
