Indian firing along LoC is open aggression against Kashmiris: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said unprovoked Indian firing along the Line of Control is not only aggression against Kashmiris but also amounts to targeting the conscience of the global community.
Inaugurating a newly constructed sports stadium in Bagh, Azad Kashmir, as part of the developmental projects for the districts affected by earthquakes, the premier said:
“Pakistan is continuously keeping the international community abreast of these provocations, ceasefire violations and trampling of human rights of Kashmiris by Indian troops.”
Nawaz Sharif said “Pakistan would continue to raise a voice for our Kashmiri brethren till they realise their right of self-determination.”
“Firing across the LoC and the Working Boundary has increased in recent days, posing threats not only to innocent people but also to regional peace and security.”
The premier said “Pakistan is drawing attention of the United Nations and the international community towards these violations and threats to regional peace.”
He said Pakistan is playing a very important role in the global war against terrorism, adding that Pakistan was conducting a successful operation against terrorism with its achievements being acknowledged by the entire world.
In a message to the global community, Nawaz said the people of Pakistan and their armed forces are fully resolved to eliminating terrorism.
“We will not forgive those supporting terrorists and their organisations.”
“Elimination of terrorism will be Pakistan's gift to the international community,” said the premier.

India just does not want operation against terrorists to succeed. So they resort to creating tension along LoC and working boundary just to keep some of Pak forces engaged on the Eastern border.

The Sharifs know very well the firing stops once Pakistan stops firing. Second you should also take action to stop infiltrators, if you are serious about building good relations with India.

With one part of the statement of the PM, I do not agree. In my opinion, the terrorism was a gift of religious extremists of Pakistan to the international community. The elimination of this terror is the duty of all, who love Pakistan.

In view of his presence in Azad Kashmir, very balanced statement from the premier. The leadership of both the countries should realize that tensions on borders are not in the interests to both of them.

On one hand Pakistan says moral support only and on the other it tries to infiltrate terrorists to disrupt peace in J&K...And then Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan will elimlinate terrorism as a gift after creating it in the first place for the whole world .Do the Pakistani's really believe that the International community are fools!

Instead of gifting international community and Modi why not gift your own people first? Gift them with security, shelter, opportunities, stability, jobs and prosperity. Stop gifting others and metro buses.

@Harmony-1 Firing did not increase. Earlier under congress rule, the army were not allowed to fire back but now under Modi, the army is given a free hand - on the basis on one fire shot - seven will be fired back....so the reaction and surprise from your end...why suddenly!!

@shiraz: Aggression is illegal as per international law. Be it Kargil or Mumbai Massacre or even the recent capture of a Pakistani citizen. All details were made public. We are yet to hear about Indian citizens be it soldiers or agents or whatever, being caught red-handed.
Even if we let bygones be bygones we cannot ignore the threat that terrorists pose to us. The sooner you dismantle them (both the bad ones as well as the good ones) the better it would be for mutual prosperity.

Just few days back Mr Sartaz Aziz in a press meet before NSA meet said, there are 700,000 Indian troops in J&K which proves that it is a disputed property. Mr. Aziz don't you know these troops are meant for stopping infiltration from Pakistan.

"You fired first" "No you fired first" will not get us anywhere. The only way to stop the firing is by making the bullets very expensive. Develop trade and commerce such that our growth would rely on each other thereby disrupting it would be much costly.
All other issues would then fall in place by itself. Wish we each had politicians with guts to think this way.

I am a bit confused after reading another report which says how asylum seekers from middle east are flooding in Hungary, Greece and other nations. Why could they not instead travel to Saudi Arabia or Qatar or Iran which are nations which border them.
Why no solidarity from Pakistan for such muslim migrants while there was a big solidarity for far away Rohingyas.

Such statements have no value or significance for the world. Our leaders shouting the word "war" will only affect to stock market, dollars will leave Pakistan. Ultimately Pakistani imports get more costly. The visting US dignitories gave earful to our leaders and we begged for the money held by US. I would rather like to see Kashmiris from our side to speak for themselves and not every day some minister or army officers to give their 2 cents.

Let the people off kashmir choose there destiny , let there be an election , 2 choices wish to be with India or Pakistan , why do 2 nuclear powers keep fighting on the loc , simple soloution to the problem , forget the politics off both side , the general public off both countrys have no hostility towards eachother , this one problem needs to resolved for both countrys to move on , or we are just leaving a time bomb for future generations , with losers on both side , there is no winner

Prime Minister Sharif has Kashmiri blood in him so he is naturally concered for the Kashmiris. India is only interested in Muslim lands, while Kashmiris share blood, family relations, religion, language, history, culture with their Pakistani brethren in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltiastan and West-Punjab.
Modi government is up to no good but Pakistan is too strong for India to attack, something we learned in the last standoff when Misharraf was Peesident. Today Pakistan is even stronger.

@k_k ..we are not fools too. We know Indian hand is behind terrorism in Pakistan. Indians funds TTP and BLA. Also, Kashmir is a disputed territory and we will fight for our Kashmiri brethren who are just as much Pakistanis as Sindhis, Balochis, Punjabis, Pakhtonsand Azad Kashmiris.

A slight change of stance from the PM but still much homework to do. World listens to better Indian rhetoric while we have to fight terror and perpetrators of terror both. We should only start talking with solid proofs in hand. India being the terror itself, will not listen to simple talks and stop its dirty game.

@Sonny Afridi U r right Sonny that Kashmir is the biggest root problem. Pakistan and its people are suffering in every sector since 70 years. Dont you think that really its time to draw the international boundary on LOC as both countries have their part of Kashmir already. Even Kashmiris will be relieved when they will know that Pakistan is not providing them wrong proxy help. Pakistan will be in winning position and become soon a prosperous country. Imagine travelling freely between Delhi to Lahore or from Karachi to Mumbai. Playing cricket and much more !!! So people of Pakistan must stand up now and ask their military regime to stop giving proxy help to Kashmir and let them develop with India.
