KARACHI: Man dies in accident

KARACHI, Oct 14: A man died in a road accident within the limits of Sukkan police station on Tuesday.

Police said that Baloch Khan, 35, an employee in Pakistan Machine Tool Factory was going for work on a bicycle when he was hit by a speeding minibus (JE-1702).

Baloch was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The errant driver escaped from the spot following the accident, police added.

An under trial prisoner died in the Central Jail on Tuesday.

Mohammad Nawaz, 38, was admitted in the jail ward, where he died during treatment. Police said that Nawaz was arrested under the Zina Hudood Ordinance from the limits of Bin Qasim police station.

Till filing of this report, his body was not shifted to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination by the jail authorities.
