Is this the patriotic number we were waiting for?

Rock band Mizmaar released their latest single 'Yeh Dil', a musical love letter to the motherland, on Independence Day.

But the song does more than pay tribute to Pakistan. Featuring the vocals of popular Indian rock band Euphoria's frontman Palash Sen, "Yeh Dil' doubles as a peace song that aims to promote Pak-India harmony. Some of Euphoria's songs like 'Dhoom Pichuk Dhoom' and 'Maeeri' have transcended the border and become favourites here, so this first-time collaboration of Sen's with Pakistani musicians is sure to be welcomed by fans.

The music video is simple, and shot largely inside a recording studio. It keeps the focus on Sabir Zafar's simple lyrics:

Yeh dil tujh say jura hai/

Itna mujh ko pata hai

The song that is an expression of love for the country also calls attention to the shared history of Pakistan and India.

"Collaboration is when people with different personas, ideas and cultures come together for the common goal of making good music. The result can only be 'Dhoom Pichuk Dhoom', said Sen in a behind-the-scenes video, referencing his hit single.
