MANSEHRA, Oct 12: The district police and the Frontier Constabulary have launched a joint operation aimed at apprehending criminals, including proclaimed offenders, from the area, a police official said during a press briefing here on Saturday.
During the operation’s first phase, the police conducted raids in the Danna in the upper Tanawal area and adjoining areas in the jurisdiction of the Phulra police station.
The spokesman for the district police said that four proclaimed offenders had been arrested, while more than a dozen suspects were rounded up for harbouring proclaimed offenders and other criminals.
He said that arms and ammunition had been recovered from them.
Five platoons of the Frontier Constabulary were assisting the police, the spokesman said.
He identified the proclaimed offender arrested in the raids as Khan Mohammad, Mithu, Fiyaz and Khan Mohammad. Fiyaz was arrested after being injured during an encounter, he added.
