WASHINGTON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement has urged President Barack Obama to use his influence to end what it termed victimisation of its workers in Karachi.

At a Saturday evening protest outside the White House, MQM workers claimed that the government was targeting the people of Karachi because they supported their party.

They also urged lawmakers to raise the issue in the US Congress and also with visiting Pakistani officials “to end the atrocities being committed against Mohajirs”.

The party workers also expressed their full confidence in Altaf Hussain and pledged to continue their struggle under his leadership.
