KARACHI, Sept 30: Four ships carrying containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as five ships were berthed. They are: Orient Stride, Ocean Luna, Kota Wangi, to unload and load containers, Le Tai to offload and load general cargo and Da Qing-455 to offload soyabean oil.

Four ships, Flame, Kota Teraju, Corin Thiakos, and Izumo sailed out, while Kota Wangi, APL Shanghai and Global Prosperity are due to depart on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 56,029 tons comprising 12,003 tons of export cargo and 44,026 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Kota Intan, Lt.Grand, PONL Mahe, and Kota Teraju, all with containers.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Sept 30: Brisk cargo handling activity was observed at the Port Qasim where a tonnage of 78,671 tons consisted of imported goods including 33,697 tons of diesel oil and 24,745 tons of coal was handled during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as seven ships, Armour-1, Bum Ju, Al-Maqwa, Sea Dream, Tzini, Ermis and Suzanne were busy in unloading edible oil, diesel oil, coal and chemicals.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Suzanne, departed, while Al-Maqwa was due to leave the port.

Four ships, Fu-Le, Iran Eshraghi, Kaede and CMA CGM Chardin were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Socotra and Pakistan are due to arrive on Wednesday.
