KARACHI, Sept 28: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead in North Karachi on Sunday.
Police said that Khalid Khan of party’s Liaquatabad sector was standing at a tyre shop near Faiza Heights when unknown motorcyclists opened fire at him and fled.
The victim suffered multiple bullet injuries, and was take to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police said that the victim was residing in Maria Homes, North Karachi.
BURNS: A 15-year-old boy suffered serious burns in mysterious circumstances in Surjani town on Sunday.
Police said that Musharraf, a student of class six, went into bushes while chasing a kite, where somehow his clothes caught fire, in sector 7-D.
He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors ascertained 96 per cent burns.
Victim’s uncle Imran told Dawn that Musharraf was wearing jeans and shirt when his cloths caught fire.
However, victim’s family was not clear as to how the young boy had suffered so serious burns.
ARRESTED: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a gang of robbers from the New M.A Jinnah Road and recovered pistols and a vehicle from their possession.
DSP Jamshad Quarters, Shad Ibne Mashi, told Dawn that three suspects identified as Mohammad Nasir, Zareen Khan and Nadeem Iqbal were allegedly involved in several cases of armed robbery.
The suspects had recently committed a robbery of Rs700,000 from a car showroom.
