KARACHI, Sept 27: The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation will offer a 24-hours quick connection service on the occasion of Shab-i-Barat, on the pattern of Milad-un-Nabi.
It was decided at a weekly review meeting, held today under the chairmanship of Brig Irfan Ali, the chief of Army Monitoring Teams (AMTs), assisting the KESC.
All those who intend to organize religious events have also been advised to approach the KESC staff concerned for temporary connections at subsidized rates.
Brig Irfan again directed the officials that in all matters, including shifting of meters, recovery of dues, disconnections and removal of illegal Kundas etc, elected representatives of the area should be taken into confidence and continuous liaison be maintained with them.
The in charge, Distribution wing, Jamil Gul Shaikh, presented the weekly report and gave reasons of power breakdowns, which occurred at Dharbeji pumping station, parts of Old Town and Hasan Square, Gulshan-i- Iqbal, on the eve of Shab-i-Meraj, informing that so far 28,538 meters had been shifted outside the consumer premises and the drive was in full swing.
