Humaima Malick's Bollywood debut Raja Natwarlal failed to create much buzz last year but her upcoming film Dekh Magar Pyaar Say (DMPS) might fare better.

Set to release this August, DMPS will be a debut for the director Asad-ul-Haq as well newbie actor Sikander Rizvi, who hails from a family of artists. He's late singer Madam Noor Jehan's grandson and actress Sonya Jehan's brother.

DMPS is a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of Lahore. Director Asad-ul-Haq says the film will differ from other Pakistani films by being "original, inspired by our own culture, places and stories."

Styling for DMPS will be looked after Saima Rashid Bargfrede and Hasan Shehryar Yasin will be the Creative and Fashion Design Director.

The film's script has been written by journalist-author Saba Imtiaz.

Asad says: "Dekh Magar Pyaar Say is based in the cultural capital of Pakistan and will be featuring a spanking brand-new outlook on the traditional romantic movie, one that is filled with twists, turns, surprises and everything in between, all the while debunking established clichés associated with the romance genre.”

He added: “I envisioned an avant-garde look and a strong, imaginative storyline for my brain-child, Dekh Magar Pyaar Say anchored in an uber-stylised contemporary hyper reality and I thought, what could be the best way to go about it? The answer was instant. You gather your usual suspects to make it happen!”
