KARACHI: Young man dies mysteriously

KARACHI, Sept 26: A young man died when he fell from a multi-storey building at I.I Chundrigar Road in mysterious circumstances on Friday.

The police said that Umair, 32, an office assistant in an office in Saima Trade Towers, fell from the roof of the building.

The police said that victim’s family ruled out the possibility of suicide, saying that there was no apparent reason why Umair should resort to such an extreme step.

The police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

The police could not find a clue to the motive of the act till the filing of report.

A taxi driver was burnt to death in his vehicle on early Friday morning in Defence.

The police said that a speeding truck hit a taxi (JL-9081), fitted with LPG cylinder, which caught fire after an explosion.

The police said that taxi driver Dilawar Khan could not manage to get out of the vehicle and got burnt to death.

The errant truck driver escaped from the spot following the accident, police added.

The body of the driver was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

KILLED: A young man was shot dead by armed men in Lyari on late Thursday night.

Police said that Zubair Khan was travelling in a bus (19-D), when unknown armed men tried to rob him, as he resisted them, they shot him and escaped from the vehicle.

The victim was taken to the Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
