KARACHI: Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has said that Pakistan is an ideological state and there is no room for violence, murder and plunder.
Speaking over the phone to the participants in the Nazria Pakistan Caravan at the Karachi Press Club on Monday, he said that the United States and India considered an ideological Pakistan an obstacle in their way.
He said that the parade of the armed forces held after a period of seven years on the occasion of Pakistan Day gave a boost to the morale of the nation.

The JuD rally, led by Hafiz Talha Saeed and Dr Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi, started from the Safari Park. It consisted of a large number of vehicles and when it reached at the KPC it finally turned into a public meeting.
Besides JuD leaders, Asadullah Bhutto of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi Ahmad Noorani of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (Noorani), Aslam Ghauri of Jamiat UIema-i-Islam-Fazl, Hafiz Ahmad Ali of JUI-Sami, Mehfoozyar Khan of the Awami Muslim League and others also spoke at the event.
Shouting slogans, the participants pledged to render every possible sacrifice to protect the ideology of Pakistan.
The JuD chief said that his party wanted to create awareness among the masses about the ideology of Pakistan.
He said the country could get rid of terrorism and confusion by implementing the ideology of Pakistan and recalled that East Pakistan had separated due to our shortcomings and as such Pakistan could not afford such shortcomings anymore.
The country could be made prosperous only by pursuing its ideological basis, he added.
Asadullah Bhutto said on the occasion that Pakistan was not achieved to attain some economic goals but in the name of Islam.
Hafiz Talha Saeed said that Pakistan was created after tremendous sacrifices, but now efforts were being made to mutilate its ideological identity through propaganda.
Dr Hashmi said that the founders of the Pakistan Movement had evolved the ideology of Pakistan according to the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and those who considered it a conspiracy were misguided.
He said that Pakistan would remain incomplete until all Muslims states under the Indian occupation became part of Pakistan.
Other speakers said that those attempting to turn Pakistan into a secular state would never succeed. They stressed the need for unity to foil the conspiracies being hatched by India with the support of international powers against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the teachers’ wing of the JuD held a convention on Sunday.
The patron-in-chief Mujahid Mehmood Barkati said that if the country had good teachers, there would not have been a Bangladesh as it was India which had been targeting our civilisation and social values through its culture.
He said India was not afraid of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb but of Hafiz Saeed whom he considered the biggest hurdle in its nefarious designs against Pakistan.
Other speakers observed that there was a deep link between the ideology of Pakistan and education but due to misconception the purpose of education had restricted only to get employment. They said that it was time to change the education system and tune it in accordance with the ideology of Pakistan.
