KARACHI, Sept 25: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has warned the government of agitation on massive level if it did not mend its ways.
The warning came at a high level meeting of the MMA which was chaired by Asadullah Bhutto, cheif of the six-party alliance, here on Thursday. Dr Khalid Mahmood Siddiqui, Mohammad Hashim Siddiqui, Mufti Osman Yar Khan and Qari Mohammad Osman were among those who attended the meeting.
Referring to constitutional package put forward by the MMA and aimed at establishing true democracy in the country, Mr Bhutto said that the government was trying to escape from parlays on the package. He claimed that the government seemed to be not in favour of the positive proposals contained in the package.
“However, the MMA strictly believes in dialogue and would continue its struggle for the supremacy of law and Constitution,” he added.
Participants of the meeting criticized the government for arresting foreign students of seminaries and said that it was an attempt to please the US government and that the action would have disastrous consequences.
The meeting observed that the government had miserably failed to improve law and order in the country, provide jobs to unemployed youths and redress the citizens’ grievances.—PPI
