Two held over ‘suspect liquid’

PRAGUE, Oct 12: Czech police on Friday arrested two London-bound passengers carrying a “suspect liquid” at Prague airport, officials said, but later discovered it was only water.

In a scare highlighting the jitteriness here, the pair were prevented from boarding a British Airways (BA) flight after the liquid was seen dripping from a plastic bottle in their possession.

The liquid was seized and sent for immediate tests, results of which were expected within hours, said a spokeswoman for the airport administration .

But the tests proved negative, showing that it was only water.—AFP
