DADU, Sept 24: The members of the district council, Dadu, boycotted its session and held a demonstration on Tuesday to protest against the EDO, finance, Noor Muhammad Leghari.
They marched on the main roads of the town and arrived at the DPO Chowk where they held a demonstration for three hours.
They were led by the Nazims of various union councils and councillor Gul Bashiran.
Speaking to the demonstrators, the Nazim, Union Council Khudadad, Mohammad Paryal Birhamani, said that the district Nazim, Malik Asad Sikandar, had announced Rs700,000 for development schemes for every union council but the EDO, finance, Noor Mohammad Leghari, and the district council officer, Zakir Hussain Radhan, did not mention in the minutes’ book regarding the announcement of the district Nazim.
On the occasion, the convener of the district council, Ali Mohammad Soomro, arrived there and assured the Nazims that stern action would be take against the official.
The Nazims then attended the district council session.
NO TAX DURING URS: The DCO of Dadu, Aijaz Ahmed Mangi, who is also the chairman of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz Mela Committee, has said that no tax would be imposed on the transport, katcha piri, etc., on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Mela Committee, held at the Shahbaz Complex, Sehwan, on Tuesday.
He said that the water supply and sanitation system of Sehwan would be improved.
He said that if any officer received any tax or bribe during the Urs he would be arrested and an FIR would be registered against him.
He said that five ambulances would be provided to the Taluka Hospital Sehwan during the Urs in case of an emergency.
DEMO: The residents of the Fazalpur village, Dadu district, held a demonstration in front of the press club on Tuesday to protest against the DSP, investigation, Dadu, Mohammad Moosa Samejo.
They were led by Abdul Qadir Mallah, Ashiq Mallah and Gulzar Mallah.
They alleged that the DSP had occupied 200 acres of agricultural land owned by the poor farmers of the village, and injured five farmers and registered fake cases against them.
They appealed to the additional inspector general of police, Hyderabad range, to provide them justice.
