HUB, Dec 22: The army has set up six checkpoints in Balochistan to prevent Al- Qaeda members’ entry into Pakistan, sources said here on Friday.
The checkpoints, manned by over 50 personnel under a senior officer, had been established one each in Dalbandin, Kharan, Awaran, Mastung, Khuzdar and Lasbela, they said and added that, in Lasbela, the checkpoint had been set up at Jhaho Mor, some 10 km from Bela.
Vehicles coming from different parts of Balochistan, specially Quetta, Awaran and Khuzdar, were being checked and suspected passengers detained, the sources said. The checkpoint in Lasbela would help prevent Al-Qaeda men’s entry into Karachi, they added.
