RAWALPINDI: The City District Government, Rawalpindi (CDGR) has declared a vacant plot adjacent to Government Khateeja Umer Girls Degree College, Mughalabad a security risk.

MNA Malik Abrar and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall visited the girls college on Monday and inspected the site.

They agreed with the college management that anyone could enter the college through this plot.

After meeting the college management, they decided to acquire the land measuring two kanals and convert it into a playground for the girls.

They decided to send a formal request to the provincial government for release of Rs20 million funds to acquire the plot.

MNA Malik Abrar said the college management and parents had brought the matter to his notice.

“If the plot remained vacant it will endanger the college security. To avoid any untoward situation and to provide safe environment to more than 950 girls they have decided to purchase the vacant plot from private owner on the market rate,” he said.

He said the DCO had also directed the special branch to collect the data of the adjoining commercial and residential buildings.

Replying to a question, he said the owner of the plot was ready to sell the plot.
