Published September 20, 2003

KARACHI, Sept 19: A division bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday dismissed the bail application of an accused in a bank fraud case with the directives to the trial court to complete the trial within one month.

The bail application was moved by Zulfiqar Ali Shar, a senior cashier in the ABL, Khipro, who allegedly embezzled millions of rupees.

Nisar A. Dogar, appearing for the applicant, submitted that he would be satisfied if the directives are issued to the trial court to dispose of the case expeditiously.

The bench also perused a report from the sub-ordinate court and held that it was obvious from it that the trial was on the verge of conclusion.

The bench then dismissed the application as not pressed with the directives to the special banking court to complete the trial within a month, from the date of receipt of the order.— APP
