PESHAWAR, Sept 18: The Contract Doctors Association has demanded of the NWFP government to regularize services of contract doctors who have been working for the last eight years in different hospitals.

According to a Press release issued here on Thursday, the President of the Association, Dr Ijaz, in a meeting of the association, said that the government should abolish the contract policy.

The association of doctors appreciated the support of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) who conveyed the problems faced by the contract doctors to the government.

Dr Ijaz said that a statement from the government official or constitution of a committee to look into the matter was not the solution to their problems.

The association demanded of the government to regularize jobs of the contract doctors who had been serving for the last eight years.

The association also demanded that these doctors should be exempted from the Public Service Commission examinations.
