KARACHI, Sept 17: Eleven Pakistani companies took part at Tendence-Lifestyle fair in Frankfurt. It gave great opportunity to participants to display their wide range of consumer goods, including handicrafts, furniture and salt lamps.

The Pakistani companies exhibited a wide range of high quality items such as salt lamps, marble and onyx handicrafts, rosewood furniture, lampshades and decorative pieces, cutlery and stainless steel products.

The commercial counsellor, Pakistan Embassy in Frankfurt, Fawad Hasan, commented that the participation of Pakistani companies at Tendence-Lifestyle was a commendable achievement on the part of the Export Promotion Bureau.

However, he suggested that attention should be given to value addition of Pakistani products and said that there was great potential to exploit the non-traditional market, especially with regards to furniture. There is a huge market for furniture within the European Union, particularly in Germany.

Dr Michael Peters, member of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt, speaking on the occasion said: “We have launched a completely new trade-fair concept and have done so with great success.”
