QUETTA, Sept 15: The Frontier Corps, Balochistan, seized here on Sunday a huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition including anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, rockets and missiles from Kangri area of Musakhel district.

“Gun runners wanted to smuggle these illegal arms and ammunition to the interiors of the country for terrorist activities,” said a senior officer of the force.

Sources said some troops of the FC had intercepted a tractor trolley in Kangri area in the wee hours and during its checking found 23 anti-tank mines, 109 anti-personnel mines, nine rocket launchers, 129 rockets of 107 MM, a large number of different missiles, two boxes of explosive material and thousands of rounds of different weapons in the trolley.

No arrest could be made as the driver and other occupants of the vehicle had managed to fled.
