KARAK: The district administration has directed the educational institutions to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the provincial government before reopening on Jan 12.

Acting deputy commissioner Hafiz Ataul Munam issued the orders in a meeting with the heads of the public and private educational institutions here on Saturday.

Assistant commissioner, Banda Daud Shah, Mohammad Nawazand, assistant commissioner, Takht-i-Nusrati, Ahmad Javed Usman, and Mohammad Sadiq, PS to the vice-chancellor of Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, were also in attendance.

Mr Munam briefed the meeting about the directives of the provincial government issued for educational institutions for taking foolproof security measures, and directed that the schools and colleges build boundary walls with barbed wire atop, and secure the main gates with blockades.

He said that educational institutions should strictly ban entry of private vehicles and unidentified people into the premises.

He said that the district administration and police would extend full support to the educational institutions in taking strict security measures to secure students’ lives.

WOMEN SUFFER BURN INJURIES: Two women suffered serious burn injuries in a fire erupted in a house at Tapi Jama Kala area on Saturday.

House owner, Abdur Rehman, said that the fire broke out in the kitchen due to electric short-circuit, when the women were busy preparing lunch.

The injured were wife of Mr Rehman and his 16-year-old daughter who were shifted to district headquarters hospital, Karak.

After giving first aid to them the doctors referred them to Peshawar in critical condition.
