Nephew of 'Alpha Bravo Charlie' star dies in Chicago fire

CHICAGO: A 10-year-old Pakistani boy died of burn injuries suffered during an apartment fire early on Monday at Kimball Avenue in Chicago.
"Both parents of the boy jumped out of the fourth floor to save their lives and are reportedly in critical condition undergoing treatment at a hospital," Consul General of Pakistan Faisal Tirmizi told Dawn.
Tirmizi said the fire started in the apartment at 3 am. He added that by the time firefighting and rescue teams reached the site, the boy had already succumbed to his injuries. At least 11 other people were injured in the incident.
The deceased was identified as the son of the brother of Captain (r) Abdullah, who starred in local TV drama Alpha Bravo Charlie.
Earlier, the Consul General had mistakenly said that the deceased child was the son of the Alpha Bravo Charlie star.
Alpha Bravo Charlie was an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) funded drama serial aired in the late 90s which gained popularity for its depiction of the lifestyle of soldiers belonging to the country’s armed forces. The drama was a sequel to Sonehre Din.
Captain (retd) Abdullah Mehmood played one of the lead roles and his character, Captain Kashif Kirmani, was mainly responsible for providing comic relief in the series.

@crimson It happened Sunday morning 3am Chicago time.
@moosa All the family jumped from the upper floor of the building. Sadly the boy did not survive. The parents are among those listed as critical so our prayers with all the 11 people including 5 children who are injured. If there were no fire alarms installed this would have been more tragic.

"The dad had his kids, there was a lot of smoke coming out of the window. He throws his kids, held them by the ankle and drops them and a bunch of people went and caught them," said Daniel Sendroiu. "Him and his wife, they jumped also.
Two of the couple's children were thrown to safety and taken to Thorek Hospital, where they remained Sunday night. But a third child, a 10-year old boy, according to police, was trapped and later found dead by first responders.

@Adnan Allah my heart is bleeding. They got 2 little sons one 6 years old and another 8 years old both survived but parents are on life saver in critical condition. Sadly there elder one died. May Allah bring both parents back to life and make them ok so they can take care of their 2 sons.

Please don't associate this incident with a Alpha Romeo Star; who is in no way related to the story...i amnt a journalist but even then i clearly can judge that u worked very hard to connect this incident with the star......
In the headline you mention the son of the alpha Romeo Star dies in that incident but in the sub - title the facts changed from the son to the nephew. Wow I am indeed sad for the boys family.
I called my wife over showed her the news and told her probably the boy isn't a nephew even.

@A still it has nothing to do with the star of alpha romeo....... plus the facts were twisted.
the headline said the son of the star and then once u open up the news it is changed to nephew. That is what I call misrepresentation of the facts.
This is a tragedy and indeed the journalist should cover it. I bet a lot less people would have read this if it was just any boy who suffered this horrific tragedy but a lot more people would of course read it if it is titled as the son of a star of a famous episode dies in that horrible accident.
My criticism is 100% focused towards the dawn organization. .....my prayers and level of condolences are the same for the family no matter who the father or the uncle is......
